Subscription Terms
The short version.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account; the rest of the paid period stays active until it ends. Free trials convert to paid unless you cancel during the trial. Your data stays available during your subscription and for 30 days after — then we delete it unless you ask us to keep it.
1. What this covers
These Subscription Terms apply to recurring-billing software products and services purchased through the Vastura Digital storefront. They supplement the Terms of Service and apply alongside any product-specific terms shown at checkout. If the two conflict, product-specific terms control.
2. Free trials
Some subscriptions offer a free trial. The trial duration is shown at signup. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to paid at the listed rate using the payment method you provided at signup. We send a reminder before the trial converts so you have time to decide.
3. Billing and renewals
- Subscriptions are billed in advance for each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected at checkout).
- Each period auto-renews on the renewal date until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Stripe through Shopify, charged to the payment method on file.
- Receipts are emailed automatically.
- Pricing is in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise marked. Applicable taxes are added at checkout based on your jurisdiction.
4. Changing your plan
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan from your account.
- Upgrades take effect immediately; the difference is pro-rated for the rest of the current billing period.
- Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period.
- Plan-feature changes on Vastura's side: we honor your current pricing until your next renewal; new pricing applies thereafter.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from your account, or by emailing billing@vastura.ca.
- Cancellation stops future renewals.
- Your subscription stays active until the end of the current paid period.
- You don't get a partial refund for the unused portion of the current period unless required by law.
- Annual subscriptions cancelled mid-term remain active through the annual end date.
6. Price changes
We may change subscription prices for new orders or upcoming renewals. Existing subscribers are notified at least 30 days before a price change takes effect at their next renewal. If you don't want to renew at the new price, cancel before the renewal date.
7. Failed payments
- If a renewal payment fails, we retry over the next 7 days.
- We notify you by email so you can update your payment method.
- If we still can't collect after 7 days, the subscription pauses; access is suspended until payment is resolved.
- Subscriptions paused for 30 days for non-payment may be cancelled and your data treated per the cancellation rules below.
8. Your data on cancellation
- During your subscription, your data is available through your account.
- After cancellation, your data remains available for 30 days in case you want to reactivate or export.
- After 30 days, your data is deleted from active systems. Backups may persist for an additional reasonable period and are then purged in the normal backup-rotation cycle.
- You can request earlier deletion at any time, or ask us to retain data longer (we'll consider it case-by-case).
- Anonymized aggregate data (which can't identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement.
9. Refunds
Subscription refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy. Default position: cancellations stop future billing but don't refund the current paid period. Material defects on our side that we can't fix promptly are eligible for refund regardless of the standard window.
10. Changes to these terms
We update these Subscription Terms when our products or applicable law change. Material
changes affecting active subscribers take effect with at least 30 days' notice. Continuing
your subscription after the effective date means you accept the changes. Prior versions
